In recent years I have realized that regardless of whatever painting I am working on when news of a significant event is perceived I feel compelled to incorporate the story into that painting. Acknowledging this urge, I have moved toward collage as an important facet of my artwork. An example of this (in addition to paintings on this page interpreting holidays, politics, news stories and other personal events) is the painting "Dawning of One Hundred Days," which represents my relocation from California to Arizona bringing a major change in my life experience.
